The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention issued an advisory to not eat freshwater fish from seven bodies of water in the state.

The advisory comes after testing fish in the waterways found levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances above Maine CDC’s recently updated recommended levels for regular consumption.
PFAS are also known as forever chemicals because they don’t break down in nature. Exposure can be associated with changes in live and kidney function, as well as changes in cholesterol levels and complications during pregnancy, the Maine CDC said…….more here
