Black Mother of 4 Found Dead After Date With Unidentified White Man; Family Demands Answers

The family of a 29-year-old Missouri woman is desperately searching for answers after she was found dead the day after going on a date with a white man.

Asia Maynard was found dead earlier this week and a medical examiner determined that there was no foul play and that Maynard died from natural causes.

Her family believes otherwise and is calling for a more thorough investigation.

Maynard’s family filed a missing person’s report earlier this month after they hadn’t heard from the mother of four in some time. Her sister, Tera Maynard, told the local news station Fox 4 that her sister was found dead on Feb. 18—and that a man she was on a date with reported her death. She died in his apartment.

He reportedly told the police that she was not feeling well and found her lying down. The man says that he then rolled her over to see if she was still alive—her body was stiff.

On social media, people who claim to know the man she went on a date with alluding to a suspect past.

“She called me Friday at 10:30 or 11 o’clock and said, hey, I met a new friend. I’m going on a date I’ll come by tomorrow,” Tera said. “After Friday she never called. She never showed up and that’s not like her. So, another day goes by. I said something’s not right. It’s not sitting right with my spirit,” Tera said.

The family disputes the authorities’ claims that there was nothing suspicious about her death.

“When she got to the funeral home and we viewed her body she had blood in her eyes and her ears and her clothes were saturated with blood,” Denise said.

The case is currently being considered a death investigation and not a homicide.
