Coronavirus Live Updates: Total of Over 11 Million COVID-19 Cases Now Confirmed in US
The global death toll from the coronavirus has surpassed 1.3 million, with over 53.8 million infected worldwide. The most affected countries are the US (10.89 million infected, 245,000 deaths), India (8.7 million cases, 129,000 fatalities), and Brazil (5.8 million cases, and over 165,000 deaths).
In Europe, the pandemic is also on the rise, with France becoming the fourth in the world in terms of infected as the coronavirus tally closes in on 2 million. Many nations, including France, Germany, the UK, Austria, Hungary, and Belgium have announced or introduced lockdowns, in a bid to curb the disease.
