(WWJ) After people all over metro Detroit reported feeling the ground shake, it’s been confirmed that there was an earthquake Friday in metro Detroit.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 3.4 magnitude was recorded at 6:55 p.m., just off shore in Lake Erie.Listen Live Now on WWJ Newsradio 950
The precise location of the epicenter was 41.904°N 83.315°W, according to USGS. That’s a little less than 2 miles south-southeast of Detroit Beach, an unincorporated community in Monroe County.
The tremors were mostly felt around Monroe County, and south of Detroit, all over the Downriver area.
WWJ Newsradio 950’s phone lines lit up with calls from people seeking quake confirmation.
