China has claimed itself to be the destined winner of the trade war with the U.S. in a series of nine propaganda columns on the country’s largest newspaper.

‘America is bound to lose,’ wrote People’s Daily, the mouthpiece of China’s ruling Communist Party.

The serial commentaries were published as the trade war between Beijing and Washington reached a new level – with heated words exchanged between two famous news presenters on air and Chinese threats to curb exports of its natural resources.

They also came before China will start imposing hefty tariffs on thousands of made-in-U.S. products tomorrow.

The articles accused Washington of being ‘a bull in the china shop’, and claimed if Washington insisted on its current path, there would be only one destination for it.

‘That is to lose,’ one of the lines said.

The nine columns ‘analyzed’ why the Trump administration would be greeted with failure, each from a different angle.

The authors blasted the U.S. government for ‘ignoring rules’, ‘going against the trend’, ‘being self-important’, ‘having double standard’ and ‘being too smart for its own good’.

They also criticized the U.S. for ‘demanding other people lose for its gains’, ‘eating its words’, ‘refusing to compete’ and ‘acting in a wilful way’.

Chinese readers have given enthusiastic responses to the propaganda.

On Twitter-like Weibo, one supporter praised: ‘Victory belongs to our great motherland!’

Another commentator quoted a well-known Chinese catch phrase: ‘This is China’s attitude: If friends come, we have wine; if jackals come, we have guns.’

In a commentary earlier this week, People’s Daily used a coded warning to threaten the U.S. with a possible export ban of essential ‘rare earth’ minerals.

Rare earths are a group of 17 chemical elements used in the production of items such as hospital scanners, nuclear power stations and LED lights. They are also important to the American tech industries.

China accounted for 80 percent of rare earth imports between 2014 and 2017 to the United States. …..more here
