Chicago braces for chilly weather
Chicago has geared up for a winter storm and following chilly weather at this weekend and next week, with main streets and sidewalks spreading salt.
A low pressure system will pass through northern Illinois over the weekend, blanketing most parts of northeast Illinois, northern Indiana, much of Wisconsin and lower Michigan Saturday night, WGN-TV Chicago Weather Center forecasted.
A winter storm watch has been issued for the Chicago area this weekend, which will be in effect from Saturday evening through late Sunday night.
The weather center warns of hazardous snow-covered roads and low visibility.
More snowfalls are expected in the next week, when the temperatures will all plunge below minus 5 Celsius degrees, with the lowest reaching minus 21 Celsius degrees on Wednesday night, according to weather forecast.
