In the midst of global isolation, the great super power is being hollowed out and caving in from within. No longer is her lifestyle sustainable. She has reached critical mass and her economy is about to blow.
When it blows it will devastate the republic. It will decimate the population. It will cause widespread panic and outrage and a great insurrection will explode within her own borders.
