YUKON, Okla. – A Yukon police officer is accused of assaulting a woman.

Zachary Bradford, 29, was arrested in Oklahoma City after a victim claimed Bradford dragged her out of a car by her hair.

Witnesses and the victim say the attack was unprovoked, and Bradford and the victim didn’t even know each other.

After it all happened in front of several people, we’re told Bradford was found shirtless walking along a busy road in northwest Oklahoma City.

Investigators are trying to find out how a house party got so out of hand and landed a police officer behind bars.

It happened near N.W. 158th and Rockwell.

A woman was sitting inside her car talking to someone else when police say Zachary Bradford started knocking on her window.

“There was somebody inside the vehicle, [she] opened the door, told him to stop, and he then allegedly reached in, grabbed the person and forced her out of the vehicle,” Capt. Paco Balderrama, with the Oklahoma City Police Department, said.

Police say Bradford grabbed the woman by her hair and dragged her to the concrete.

“He had the girl’s leg in his hand and was pulling her on the ground,” the man who hosted the party said.

He says he pushed Bradford away and got the woman inside the house.

“She was bleeding from her neck… she was shaking. She was crying and shaking,” he said.

“There were several witnesses who saw this take place. There was no question as to what happened,” Capt. Balderrama said.

After the alleged attack, witnesses reported seeing Bradford running away.

People at the house called 911 and gave the operator the direction they saw Bradford heading.

Officers caught up with him near Memorial and Rockwell and arrested him.

The man who hosted the get together said he’d never met Bradford, but the suspect was quick to let everyone know he was a Yukon police officer.

Investigators say Bradford had been to several other places that night and had been drinking.

Bradford has bonded out of jail.

He’s been a police officer in Yukon just over three years.

Right now, he’s on suspended paid leave.
