Danish scientists create superconductive nanowire crystals
The crystals are composed of semiconducting and metallic materials
TASS/. Danish scientists from the Nils Bohr Institute hace created superconducting crystals that may become widely used in electronics.
Atomically, the crystals are composed of semiconducting and metallic materials. The invention can be used to produce nanowires microchips.
Thomas Sand Jespersen said the new material is a hybrid between a semiconducting nanowire and its electronic contact. According to the scientist, the invention creates a way to make a perfect transition between the nanowire and a superconductor.
