Three elementary school girls in New York have been accused of plotting to kill their teacher with hand sanitizer.

Once the fourth-graders from Elba, New York, heard their teacher was extremely allergic to antibacterial sanitizers, they allegedly planned to put the substance on things that they knew she would touch.

A board member contacted police after she heard of the plan from concerned parents and her son.

The report, provided by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department, said, “the suspects made comments to other students that they were going to kill [the teacher] by putting antibacterial products around the classroom.”

Police interviewed the girls in the presence of their parents and school officials to find out their motivation.

One student said that her teacher “yells at us and that the class has problems with her.”

Another student said the plan to poison the teacher started with yet another student.

According to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department report the officers were told that particular class of fourth graders “had problems working together.”

Elba Superintendent Jerome Piwko issued statement on Thursday afternoon regarding the incident

“The Sheriff’s Department concluded that no crime had been committed and the matter was turned back over to the District,” Piwko said in the statement.

The alleged incident happened just before winter break in December, according to the police report.

The school decided it would handle the issue, so the Sheriff’s Department has no more involvement in the case.
