Russian energy giants launch counter-strike to US sanctions by dumping dollar transactions

Gazprom Neft To Continue Oil Supplies Abroad For Non-Dollar Currencies

Putin highlighted that Gazprom Neft has already recently supplied oil to China and accepted payment in rubles.
(RIA Novosti) – Russian oil producer Gazprom Neft will continue accepting payments in rubles for oil shipments abroad, Gazprom Neft Director General Alexander Dukov told journalists on Friday.
“We will go ahead with this practice and will increase the supply volumes for rubles, yuan, and other non-dollar currencies,” Dukov said.
According to Dukov, the State should also work in this direction and increase ruble liquidity, create special stock exchanges, and establish independent media organizations focusing on price assessments.
On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia aims to use national currency when trading energy resources and for other transactions with China and other countries. Putin highlighted that Gazprom Neft has already recently supplied oil to China and accepted payment in rubles.
According to data from the Moscow stock exchange, the yuan-ruble trading volume in August amounted to 27 billion rubles ($700 million), which is a new monthly record.
