 Analyst warns of corruption in US government

An American journalist says military power in the United States corrupts.

America “has become so powerful that it has become corrupt,” said Sherwood Ross, a columnist with Veterans Today. “Countries are beginning to recognize that the United States is settling all its disputes by force.”

“Disputes that could be settled peacefully are being settled militarily and this is always the worst and the least desirable option,” he said in an interview with Press TV on Sunday when asked about recent remarks by Russia’s President Vladimir Putin about the US.

Putin said on Friday that the world should not be dominated by one power as the United States’ “unipolar” vision of the world has failed. Putin said today’s world people want to decide on their fate themselves.

The Russian leader also warned that West’s imposed sanctions on Moscow over the US-Russia dispute on Ukraine crisis would have a boomerang effect, saying that the west’s anti-Russia measures will impact Western economies.

“There are a number of other countries which share Mr. Putin’s view, and these countries including some in Europe do not want to see the United States become any more powerful,” Ross said.

As the US “uses economic pressure all the time in other countries,” he said, “the only pressure that I can see is for the rest of the world to exert economic pressure against the United States.”
