They prided themselves in the break-up of other nations…Referendum on S Sudan’s secession was facilitated by Western countries

Greetings,

sd1For centuries they have prided themselves in the division and break-up of other nations. They laughed with glee as they implemented these designs. They waged wars, demonized leaders, and destroyed entire peoples for the sake of pillage and occupy. Now the fruit of their own labor has become a strong wind blowing back on the continent of Europe as nation after nation contemplate secession.

Ever since they were let loose from Europe to expand around the globe there has been nothing but war and destruction. This is written in their own history books…..” This is why now a war between civilizations must take place; because the present ruler (white race) has deceived the whole entire civilized world with their civilization of deceit!

sdThe white race was made for the purpose of making mischief. The white race was made for the purpose of deceit. And, now that Almighty God Has Come to Make Manifest that which has been hidden of the truth, this runs the white man from under his deceitful blanket which had the white man covered.

As the Bible teaches us “God will pull the covering off of the covered and show the nations his (white race’s) shame” (Nah. 3:5).”–pg.40(tfoa)

sd2 The white man is very clever in making a public fool of the Black man. They are the master deceivers. We cannot dispute this…”It has always been the policy of the white man to use a Black man against a Black man – especially leaders. Look at history. See how he has deceived and killed off the Black leaders of foreign lands and then they took over themselves. This should be a lesson for you and me.“–pg.63(tfoa)–They are now being exposed!

The four-month-old ethnic war has left thousands and possibly tens of thousands of people dead in South Sudan, and forced over one million to flee their homes, sparking a massive humanitarian crisis. More than 78,000 civilians are currently crammed into eight UN bases in the country, while more than a million people have been displaced within the country or have fled to neighbouring states, mainly Uganda and Ethiopia. Dr. Richard Lobban, Professor Emeritus of Anthropology, Rhode Island College commented on the issue.

On the surface, the situation in South Sudan looks like political infighting among two elites, but as we have seen, it has transformed into ethnic warfare. How did a conflict that was originally political and high-level turn into something ethnic and local?

Everything in Africa has fantastically deep historical roots. At least, the conflict has to go back to the Closed Districts Ordinance of British colonial rule. After independence in 1956 the north had a very paternalistic view towards the south and this was only worsened when the Islamic project under the last phase of Gaafar Nimeiry or the current government only wanted to have Sharia implemented for the whole Sudan. So, these important historical factors must be included as foundational.

And then, for the modern aspect, Riek Machar was formerly associated with the SSIM group, was a proxy force backed by Khartoum in order to undermine the SPLA.

So, it is certainly true that ethnicity is an extremely important factor, as the conflict has deteriorated, but one must understand the historical foundations and that ethnicity is just a handle by which different groups can be recruited to follow the respective principle leaders, namely Salva Kiir leading the Dinka faction and Riek Machar leading some parts of the Nuer, but not even all parts.

Do you think that the US was party to the conflict by supporting the South Sudanese secession at first place?

The US wanted to have a conflict resolution. The position of all parties was to have either regional autonomy… when I was working for the Ministry of Southern Affairs in Khartoum in the early phase of the Nimeiry Government, the 9th of June 1969 regional autonomy accord led to the Addis-Ababa agreement of 1971, which brought peace between the north and south for 11 years. So, the secret was mutual respect and not having political or personal, or religious agendas down each other’s throat.

The irony is that the SPLA was for the unity of Sudan. The referendum which was hatched certainly was facilitated by the European countries and by the US as a means to solicit the opinion of the Southern Sudanese. They could have opted for unity with the north or the separation. The vote took place and was massively in favor of separation.

So, the US was a stakeholder wanting regional stability and security. I think were slightly tipping towards a preference for separation.

How likely do you think it is that the US’ diplomacy can peacefully resolve the conflict?

The US can set the table and can invite people to sit down at the table, but it can’t coerce them. It is not desirable or possible. And then we have an even more wild card, such as the so-called White Army of Nuer composition, which Salva Kiir must either reign in or control, or express that he cannot control them.

The situation is very precarious. The potential for it to run out of control ala Rwanda is there. It is very alarming in the near short-term. And even in the next 6 to 8 or 12 months, if the planting season and animal husbandry is disrupted, then we will deal with a much degraded situation.
