War clouds thicken –As US deploys troops to Jordan & Egypt, Russia requests use of Cyprus airbase

  Why would Russia request use of an airbase in Cyprus? It is because she intends to station massive airpower just minutes from Syria, Israel, Lebanon, Turkey, and the heart of Europe. This would come on top of the already massive naval forces patrolling Syrian waters. This would also come on the back of the deployment of the spy ships which are watching US deployments in the region.

  Could this be a build up to confront America? America is deployed in Jordan, Turkey, Israel, Iraq, and surrounding areas in Europe and the Middle East and North Africa . America is also deploying troops to Egypt’s Sanai Peninsula, which would give the US defacto control over the Suez Canal, thus cutting off Russian re-enforcements from coming from the Persian Guld and the Guld of Adan.

  If Russia were to use Cypress as its airbase, this would negate all previous moves by America and thus signal to both America and NATO that Russia will intervene on behalf of Syria if it comes down to it!

  So this brings us right back to this quote…” In the Near East, there stand navies which are neither American nor British…they are there to drive America out. Cyprus has agreed in principle to grant a Russian request for use of a military airbase in Paphos, it emerged on Saturday.

Moscow has filed an official request to be allowed use of the Andreas Papandreou base, reports said.

Speaking on state radio, Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides said the request will be treated in the same way as with other friendly countries.

Facilities at the base will be granted to Russian military aircraft in cases of emergency and under conditions that will be agreed, Kasoulides said.

The facilities will not be granted on a permanent basis, reports said.

The agreement will not grant Russia more facilities than those afforded to other countries, the minister said.

Russia has already secured facilities for its warships in Cypriot ports.
