China has carried out a fete that will make both former global powers, Russia & America, scratch their heads. This is quite unheard of. It only goes to re-enforce the perception of China becoming a world class global power & leader in technology & space!

A Long March-2D carrier rocket carrying a high-definition earth observation satellite “Gaofen-1″ and other three small satellites made by Ecuador, Argentina and Turkey as well as two satellite splitters from the Netherlands blasts off from the launch pad at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Jiuquan, northwest China’s Gansu Province, April 26, 2013.
China launched a communications satellite, “Zhongxing-11″, at 0:06 am Thursday (Beijing time) from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China’s Sichuan Province, May 2, 2013.
“Zhongxing-11″ will be mainly used in providing commercial communications services for users in the Asia-Pacific region, according to a statement from the center.
The satellite was sent by a Long March-3B rocket into the preset orbit, the statement said.
It marked the 176th launch of China’s Long March series of rockets.
