The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced that governments have supported terrorism against the country from abroad in a flagrant violation to the UN Charter and international law.

Local media on Tuesday published a message from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the UN Security Council, the UN secretary general, the Organization of Islamic Countries, the Human Rights Council and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights about lethal terrorist actions carried out over the weekend in Damascus and Aleppo.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the attacks with car bombs on March 17 in Damascus were aimed at disturbing quiet and stable suburbs, killing 27 people and wounding 140, including several in a critical condition.

The attack in the city of Aleppo, 335 kilometers (208 miles) north of Damascus, “came to complete the bloody plan executed by terrorists and those who support them with money and weapons,” the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

Another car bomb carrying two people to Damascus exploded without causing human victims in Yarmouk, in the outskirts of the capital, so inquiries show that it would have been the third attack against a target in the capital on Saturday.

The attacks on Saturday and Sunday totaled nine terrorist actions, including eight with car bombs. Since the first two attacks in Damascus on December 23, 328 people have been killed and 657 have been wounded, and serious material damage has been caused, in addition to the negative impact on the people’s psyche.
