BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:20 P.M.) – Minutes ago, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) seized the strategic town of Al-Hirak after a short battle with the jihadist rebels.

Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army launched an attack on Al-Hirak from three different flanks in a bid to overwhelm the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.

However, the jihadist rebels had mostly retreated from Al-Hirak before the Syrian Army was able to enter the town this afternoon.

In addition to capturing Al-Hirak, the Syrian Arab Army was able to take control of the Battalion 271 Base after the jihadist rebels retreated from the area.

With Al-Hirak under their control, the Syrian Arab Army now has a gateway to the southeastern countryside of Daraa; specifically, the historical city of Busra Al-Sham.

The capture of Al-Hirak also moves the Syrian Army much closer to sealing the provincial border of the Al-Sweida Governorate.
