On October 1, the Ukrainian government adopted several decisions to simplify access to a number of state secrets of the country for a group of NATO advisers, who arrived in Ukraine.

“The Government considered and approved a number of draft laws and regulations that govern our relationship with NATO experts and allow them access and work freely with documents in the premises either in accompanying persons’ presence or without,” a press release from the Minister of the Cabinet Ostap Semerak said.

According to him, the most recent decisions of the Ukrainian government contribute to the development of relations with “friends of Ukraine at NATO,” which is especially important now, as Ukraine, despite the declared truce remains “in the escalation of the conflict with Russia.”

Noteworthy, the decisions of the Ukrainian Cabinet were made the day when new NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called Russia’s actions in Ukraine, a “key challenge to the security of the alliance,” along with the threat of the “Islamic State” in Iraq. According to him, NATO sees the declaration of truce as an opportunity to resolve the crisis in Ukraine, although ceasefire regime is regularly violated, said Stoltenberg.
