If this report is correct, then this would mean that along with at least 2 squadrons of SU-27’s these Mig-29’s would put a formidable display of aerial might not only close to Ukraine, but right near NATO forces.
Russia sending fighter aircraft to Ukrainian border
KYIV, June 25 /Ukrinform/. Russia has sent a squadron of MiG-29 fighter aircraft to the border with Ukraine and is conducting reconnaissance flights.
Spokesman for the information center of the National Security and Defense Council Volodymyr Chepovy said this at a briefing on Wednesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“A squadron of MiG-29 fighter aircraft has arrived in the city of Millerovo in the Rostov region of Russia, 30 kilometers from the border with Ukraine,” Chepovy said.
He also said that Russia h
ad stepped up reconnaissance flights along the border.
“The reconnaissance flights of Russian aircraft are observed along the Ukrainian-Russian border within the Luhansk region,” he said.
