Sudan’s army spokesman al-Sawarmi Khalid said Khartoum would abide by a UN-backed African Union call to halt hostilities despite the presence of South Sudanese troops on its soil.
“No shot has been fired from our side and no attacks or raids have been launched … towards South Sudan,” Khalid told Reuter on Saturday.
“But we have to point out that we are still affected by the presence of the South Sudanese army inside our territories in some areas,” he said.
Khalid added that the army reserves the right to defend Sudan’s territory from foreign troops.
South Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA), however, denied the allegation.
“(Kafen Debbi) was used by … militia to attack us. And these are inside western Bahr al-Ghazal, which is part of our territory,” SPLA spokesman Philip Aguer said.
Meanwhile, South Sudan has accused the Sudanese army of launching air strikes and ground attacks on its territory over the past weeks, but Khartoum rejects the allegations…..MORE HERE
