US President Donald Trump is a narcissistic bully who is doing a fine job of isolating the United States in world opinion, an American political analyst and activist says.

Myles Hoenig, a former Green Party candidate for Congress, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Friday after former CIA director John Brennan who said Trump shows “qualities usually found in narcissistic, vengeful autocrats.”

In a message he posted on Twitter on Thursday, Brennan blasted Trump’s harsh stance against critics of his declaration of Jerusalem al-Quds as the capital of Israel.

“Trump Admin threat to retaliate against nations that exercise sovereign right in UN to oppose US position on Jerusalem [al-Quds] is beyond outrageous,” tweeted Brennan.

“Shows @realDonaldTrump expects blind loyalty and subservience from everyone—qualities usually found in narcissistic, vengeful autocrats,” he added.

Hoenig said, “The Goldwater rule of psychoanalysts not commenting on public officials for whom they have no direct/professional connection with has since been violated now that President Trump is in office. We didn’t need them to know that the president is a narcissist with delusions of grandeur and a threat to world peace.”

“We don’t need Brennan to inform us either but it’s becoming commonplace now for notable people to come out and say the obvious,” he added.

“Trump’s latest regarding our ‘enemies’ in the UN is just another example. Is he taking it personally if nations vote their interests over his personal view? Does he think he personifies US foreign policy?” the analyst asked.

“Interestingly, moving the US embassy to Jerusalem [al-Quds] from Tel Aviv has long been US policy, but the matter has been waived over the years and past presidents,” he said.

“It is a bi-partisan position and the Senate has as recently as June of 2017 in a vote of 90-0 called for such move. The issue is whether President Trump sees it as his alone and his ‘taking names’ is just his way of keeping track of his enemies,” he added.

“The only way to stand up to a narcissistic bully is to do what most nations have done – reject his proposal in the UN General Assembly without fear of retribution, or even in spite of it. Seventy percent of the US public disapproves of Trump’s conduct in office and dare say about 90 percent of the world,” the activist noted.

“In the past when world leaders like Hitler or Mussolini would strut their nation’s imagined or potential powers most of the other nations either kowtowed or ignored them. The world today no longer will have anything to do with the likes of Donald Trump. They see him for what he is and are doing a fine job of isolating the US in world opinion and even ignoring the immense powers that he yields,” he stated.

“It will take time for us to see how he reacts, as clearly, the entire foreign affairs establishment in the US is concerned about their lack of credibility or even more simply, their individual careers,” Hoenig concluded.
