A Great Blues Man, Mr. Albert King

Submitted By Ahmed K. El-Shabazz

Blues,  an African Music art  form rooted in Mali, Africa, was exported to America by the African Slaves.Over time this Music made it’s way from it’s Southern roots up to America’s Northern Cities, during the ” Great Migration” of Black people from the South to the North ,between the 1920’s to the 1950’s. There are many great Blue men and women, from B.B. King , Willie King, Buddy Guy, KoKo Taylor, just to name a few. But the late Mr. Albert King is one of the Best, and one the KINGS OF THE BLUES, as he played his guitar, named ” LUCY “, King’s style was seen in Blue players from  Stevie Ray Vaughn to Gary MooreHere is an example of electric Urban Blues. The words to this song are  deep, the title speaks for itself,  ” DROWNING ON DRY LAND ” , truly a Blues Classic ! !
