KINSHASA, Democratic Republic of Congo (AP) — A military court on Thursday sentenced to death two men, a Norwegian and a man who holds British and Norwegian citizenship, who had been convicted of espionage and murder, a court official said.
The men — Joshua French and Tjostolv Moland, who are both former Norwegian soldiers — were convicted last year of murdering their driver and trying to murder a witness.
The court in the northeastern city of Kinsangani also convicted them of spying for Norway, because they were carrying military identification cards at the time. The Norwegian government has denied that they were spies.
Lawyers representing them said the men had five days to file an appeal……MORE HERE
