GEOPOLITICS…THE ART OF SAYING WHAT IS NOT SAID!HAS RUSSIA DELIVERED THE S-300 AIRDEFENSE SYSTEM TO IRAN?

GREETINGS,

DO YOU REMEMBER THE UPROAR THAT WAS MADE OVER THE POSSIBLE MILITARY DEAL RUSSIA HAD STRUCK WITH IRAN?IT WAS ALL OVER THE NEWS FOR ABOUT 2YEARS.ISRAEL AND AMERICA WERE UP IN HYSTERIA OVER THE POSSIBLE COMPLETION OF THE DEAL.

MANY PEOPLE VIEWING THE DEAL THOUGHT IT STRANGE THAT AMERICA AND ISRAEL WOULD BE SO AGAINST DEFENSIVE EQUIPMENT BEING SOLD TO ANY NATION ESPECIALLY ONE WHO IS NOT UNDER ANY U.N. MILITARY SANCTIONS.THE THOUGHT IS THAT ISRAEL OR/AND AMERICA WANTED IRAN TO BE AS DEFENSELESS AS POSSIBLE IN ORDER TO STRIKE .

THAT IS THE WAY COWARDS ACT.THEY BUILD UP THEIR MILITARY WHILE THREATENING OTHERS AND TRYING TO PREVENT OTHERS FROM HAVING AN ABILITY TO RESPOND TO PROVOCATIONS IN ORDER TO ATTACK THE SAID NATION AT WILL.I REMEMBER RUSSIA ,AFTER COMKING UNDER TREMENDOUS PRESSURE FROM IRAN FINALLY SAID THAT THEY WOULD DELIVER THE S-300 AIRDEFENSE SYSTEM WITHIN TWO MONTHS(AFTER ALREADY HOLDING UP THE DEAL AT THAT TIME FOR 6MONTHS).THEY SAID THAT IN NOVEMBER 2009.READ SOURCES #1  AND #2 AND #3 AND #4 AND #5 AND #6 .

NOW I SEE THAT WE ARE IN 2010 AND THE AT THE END OF THE MONTH OF JANUARY AND NEITHER RUSSIA NOR IRAN HAS SAID MUCH ABOUT THE DELIVERY YET.IF IRAN WERE TO ACQUIRE THESE AIR-DEFENSE SYSTEMS , IRAN WOULD ACTUALLY CONTROL PART OF THE SKY IN EVERY SURROUNDING AND NEIGHBORING COUNTRY.THAT INCLUDES IRAQ,TURMENISTAN,PAKISTAN,AZERBIJAN,ARABIA,QATAR,U.A.E., BAHRAIN,OMAN,AND OF COURSE AFGHANISTAN DEPENDING ON THE STATIONING OF THE DEFENSES INSIDE IRAN.THIS WOULD INFACT BLUNT ANY U.S. OR ISRAELI OR NATO AGGRESSION IN ANY DIRECTION.

THAT IS WHAT IS SO UNSETTLING TO U.S./ISRAELI PLANNERS. WITHOUT IRAN IN THEIR POCKET YOU CAN KISS THEIR PIPELINE DREAMS OF BYPASSING RUSSIA GOODBYE. THIS BLUNTS AMERICAN EMPERIALISM AND STIFLES HER PLAN TO CDONTROL THE WORLD’S GAS & OIL TAPS THROUGH WHITEMALE(YOU SAY BLACKMAIL,WE SAY WHITE MALE) AS HER DOLLAR CONTINUES TO CRASH AND HER ECONOMIC WOES ARE EXASERBATED.

THIS WOULD REMOVE HER FROM THE DEOMINANT ROLE AND ENSURE HER FALL.THIS AMERICA KNOWS FULL WELL.THAT IS WHY SHE IS ADAMENT ABOUT NO MILITARY SALES OR EXCHANGES WITH IRAN BY ANY SOVEREIGN NATION.BUT AGAIN I ASK, HAS RUSSIA ALREADY DELIVERED THESE DEFENSE SYSTEMS TO IRAN?MAYBE OR MAYBE NOT,BUT THIS IS WHAT I GATHERED FROM THE LATEST PUBLISHED INFO ON THIS SUBJECT:

“Iran to unveil missiles during anniversary

AFP – January 26, 2010

A top commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said on Tuesday that the country’s armed forces will unveil several missiles and weapons at the 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution next month.

Mehr news agency quoted commander Massud Jazayeri as saying: “Several missile and weapons projects will be unveiled during the 10 days of dawn (February 1 to 11) by armed forces.”

The Iranian built Omid

Jazayeri’s announcement comes less than a week after Tehran said it will reveal three new satellites in February.

Communications Minister Reza Taghipour said the three home-built communications satellites were Toloo (Dawn), Ya Mahdi and Mesbah-2. He did not give a specific date for the launching.

Iran had launched its first home-built satellite, the Omid (Hope), last February to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Islamic revolution.

The launch sent alarm bells ringing in the international community, which voiced concern over Iran’s development of technology that could be used for military purposes.

The West suspects Iran of secretly trying to build an atomic bomb and fears the technology used to launch space rockets could be diverted into developing long-range ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

Tehran denies having military goals for its space programme or its nuclear drive.

But it has aggressively pursued a missile programme and repeatedly threatened to target US bases in the region and to block the strategic Gulf Strait of Hormuz waterway for oil tankers if its nuclear sites are attacked.

Washington and its ally Israel have not ruled out striking Iran’s nuclear sites in a bid to stop its galloping atomic drive which they suspect is aimed at making weapons.

Iran is under three sets of UN sanctions for refusing to suspend uranium enrichment and risks a further round after rejecting a UN-brokered deal to send its low enriched uranium abroad to be further refined into fuel for a research reactor in Tehran.”————————————————————-NOW WE SHALL LOOK AT THIS ALSO;

Russia still considers Iran a valuable customer for its weapons, a top arms trade official said Thursday, issuing a reassuring message to Tehran despite recent indications of Moscow’s support for tougher Western sanctions.

The S-3oo would present formidable obstacle to any air strikes

Anatoly Isaikin, the head of the state arms trader Rosoboronexport, said no international agreements bar Russia from selling weapons to Tehran. The statement marked another step in a delicate diplomatic game Moscow has been playing in a hope of maintaining good ties with Tehran without angering the West.

Russia signed a 2007 contract to sell the powerful S-300 air defense missiles to Tehran, but so far has not delivered any. No reason has been given for the delay, but Israel and theUnited States strongly objected to Iran obtaining the long-range missiles, which would significantly boost the country’s air defense capability.

Isaikin dodged a question if and when Russia could fulfill the contract, but he emphasized Russia’s right to provide Iran with weapons.

“There are no formal bans which would bar the delivery of any types of weapons to Iran,” he said at a news conference, adding that Russia’s arms trade with Iran isn’t covered under current U.N. sanctions.

The Obama administration is preparing to circulate proposed tougher new sanctions against Iran, which would target elements of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps as well financial institutions under existing U.N. sanctions resolutions, U.S. officials said.

Isaikin’s comments followed Wednesday’s statement by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov who showed a cautious support for possible new sanctions against Tehran after talks with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Lavrov’s comments differed from previous Russian statements opposing any new sanctions against its important economic partner, Iran. Russia has been building Iran’s first nuclear power plant. Its launch has been repeatedly delayed and is now scheduled for some unspecified time early this year.

Russia has also provided Iran with some weapons and spare parts for Soviet-built military hardware, although none of them were as powerful as the S-300.

Russia has walked a fine line on Iran for years. It is one of the six powers leading efforts to ensure Iran does not develop an atomic bomb. But it also has tried to maintain friendly ties with Iran, a regional power close to Russia’s vulnerable southern flank. Moscow has particularly appreciated Tehran’s refusal to support Islamic insurgents in Chechnya and other Russian provinces in the volatile North Caucasus region.”———————————————    NOW I REALLY WANT YOU TO PAY ATTENTION TO THIS ARTICLE ESPECIALLY(IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ONES ABOVE).THIS ARTICLE IS THE PRIME FOCUS.YES I KNOW THIS ARTICLE IS TALKING ABOUT A RUSSIA /LIBYAN MILITARY DEAL,BUT IS TELLS US SOMETHING VERY REVEALING RELATING TO IRAN IN THE 5TH PARAGRAPH.PLEASE TAKE NOTICE!!!;
Russia set to sell $2B in arms to Libya

Another part of the deal would focus on securing combat aircraft such as the SU-35, SU-30 and Yak-130. That purchase alone would absorb half of the funds Libya is set to allocate for its Russian arms design, the Interfax news agency said.

Libya is poised to pick up more than $2 billion worth of Russian arms, focusing mainly on a fleet of 200 fighter planes, Russia’s Interfax news agency reports. The report comes hot on the heels of a key visit to Russia by Libya’s defense minister, Gen. Abu-Bakr Yunis Jaber. The visit signals the latest show of renewed cooperation between Russia and the once pariah state of North Africa.

“Libya is ready to buy around 20 fighter planes, at least two divisions of S-300PMU2 air defense systems and several dozen T-90S tanks from Russia, and also to modernize more than 70 tanks and other weapons,” Interfax reported citing unidentified military sources.

Officials on both sides have refused to openly concede the deal, which local media, including the reputable Vedomosti newspaper, put the contract at $2 billion.

The same newspaper reported that the deal would also include purchase of the sophisticated S-300 surface-to-air anti-missile systems, which Russia has also delivered to Iran.

Another part of the deal would focus on securing combat aircraft such as the SU-35, SU-30 and Yak-130. That purchase alone would absorb half of the funds Libya is set to allocate for its Russian arms design, the Interfax news agency said.

Relations between Russia and Libya have warmed in recent years following the latter’s bid to shed its pariah status in 2003 when it renounced weapons of mass destruction and took responsibility for a 1988 airliner bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland that killed 270 people.

In 2008, also, during a visit to Tripoli by President Putin, Moscow agreed to cancel billions of dollars of Libyan Soviet-era debt in exchange for big contracts for Russian companies.

It was Putin’s first visit to Tripoli since the 1980s.

It remained unclear whether the new, lucrative arms contract was signed during Jaber’s Russia visit.

“We expect his visit will not just be of a political nature, but will also allow the signing of contracts on the delivery of arms and military hardware,” Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, deputy head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, told the RIA-Novosti state news agency ahead of Jaber’s visit.

The official, who oversees arms exports, did not elaborate. There was, also, no official confirmation or statement by Russia’s powerful state-run arms exporter Rosoboronexport.

Local media suggested that details of the contract could be revealed during a news conference on Wednesday.

The arrival of the senior Libyan minister comes days after the Libyan Investment Authority snatched up the Hong Kong initial public offering of UC Rusal, the world’s biggest aluminum producer.

In 2008 UC Rusal had signed a memorandum of understanding to create a joint venture to build an “energy and metals complex” in Libya.”
